Student Affairs-Relationship & Sexual Violence Prevention Center
The Education Coordinator will create and implement evidence-based education to promote academic success and personal wellness. This role delivers trauma-informed initiatives to improve student retention and achievement through preventive education and response services. The position assesses curriculum outcomes for effectiveness in supporting student success, aligning with the university's mission of academic excellence and student support.
What You Will Do
- Curriculum Development and Implementation:Provide workshops and educational series focusing on healthy relationships, academic success strategies, student leadership development, effective communication, conflict resolution, and personal safety awareness.
- Collaboration & Outreach: Work with faculty, staff, student organizations, and the Student Affairs Communications team to develop and implement educational curriculum, training, and workshops aimed at enhancing academic success and student wellbeing.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise undergraduate students, graduate students, and interns, supporting the distribution of informational materials about center events and support services.
- Curriculum Assessment: Conduct assessments of educational initiatives, utilizing data to enhance service delivery and collaborating with the RSVP Center lead on annual reporting of educational outcomes and recommendations.
- Support and Referral: Act as a reliable resource for students, guide them to appropriate wellness services, maintain professional boundaries, and provide referrals for students in crisis.
- Innovative Engagement: Participate in university committees focused on student success initiatives and support additional center functions as required, ensuring that the educational sessions and activities are consistent with the university's mission of academic excellence and student support.
- Knowledgeable impartial resource for university policies, federal and state regulations, and current higher education guidelines.
- Professional who will infuse facilitations with content that guides students through university processes, connects them with appropriate campus resources, and provides comprehensive support throughout their Mizzou academic career.
- Supportive professional who remains unbiased and impartial in all work-related matters, including educational services, policy interpretation, and confidentiality.
- Consultant possessing essential skills such as strong analysis, maintaining confidentiality, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to ensure student success and development.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm; evening and weekend work as needed
This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
* A master's degree in public health, education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in higher education student services, supporting young-adult populations with trauma-informed practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
* Proficiency in data collection, assessment, and program development and evaluation.
University Title: Student Service Coordinator I
University Pay Grade: GGS 008
Hourly Salary Range: $24.04-$26.45 ($50,000 - $55,000 Annually)
