MU TITLE: Program/Project Support Coordinator I

LOCATION: Coverage of Bates, Benton, Cass, Camden, Cedar, Cooper, Dallas, Henry, Hickory, Johnson, Laclede, Moniteau, Morgan, Pettis, Polk, St. Clair and Vernon Counties - Warsaw, MO

Health and Human Sciences (HHS) Extension promotes optimal well-being of individuals, families and communities. HHS Extension offers a variety of educational programs throughout the state, including the Family Nutrition Education Program for individuals and families.

The Family Nutrition Education Programs (FNEP) is an important part of University of Missouri Extension bringing the latest nutrition information to Missourians. FNEP is comprised of SNAP-Ed and EFNEP funding opportunities.

This position assists the Family Nutrition Education Program Project Director in planning, developing, and implementing the regional FNEP program. This position will function as an active member of MU Extension and assist in carrying out the daily operations of the regional FNEP unit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

25% Coordinate the daily operations of the regional FNEP unit. Coordinate the NPA's use of educational curricula, displays, exhibits, food power, assemblies, supplies, materials and other resources. Track workload and teaching effort for records review. Ensure that teaching is occurring in approved sites. Seek out new program opportunities and partners.

25% Assist the Associate Director, paperwork flow and budget allocation. Monitor fiscal spending in conjunction with the unit support staff and regional coordinator. Ensure that NPAs are submitting program and fiscal paperwork in a timely fashion and that the paperwork is prepared in accordance to program policy.

20% Coordinate and implementation of regional training opportunities. Coordinate of bi-monthly unit meetings. This includes but is not limited to statewide trainings. Orient and train new staff. Identify and communicate clientele needs to program leadership. Conduct in-service training activities, as needed.

10% Work with regional Extension faculty who are implementing SNAP-Ed Policy, Systems, and Environmental strategies as well as 4-H SNAC program to ensure they have curriculum, materials, and support needed to successfully implement the program.

10% Report educational program accomplishments and impacts. Research and obtain data, maintain program reports and compile impact. Develop written report to communicate accomplishments to internal and external stakeholders. Present reports at local community organizations and Extension Councils, as requested.

10% Assist NPA's to promote educational programs to partners, including developing and maintaining positive relations with schools, health departments and others stakeholders or partners to increase awareness, commitments and opportunities.

Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and federal regulations. Other duties and responsibilities will be expected to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

This position reports to the Regional FNEP Associate Director who oversees the management of the Regional FNEP Program and will receive additional support from faculty and staff in the MU Extension. Functional supervision may be exercised over a small to medium sized office support staff and student assistants.

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ability to travel and to occasionally work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, is required to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Education and/or training in a health-related field including registered dietitian.

Two to three years professional work experience in health and nutrition education, grant administration and other areas that help perform the duties of the job description.

Ability to understand, synthesize and communicate relevant educational curriculum across various audiences.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $20.00 - $26.34 per hour

Grade: GGS-008
