Are you passionate about research and eager to make a significant impact in the academic world? The MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) Grants Office is seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Grant Writer to join our team!

As a Senior Grant Writer, you will play a crucial role in helping our faculty secure extramural research funding, particularly for interdisciplinary projects and collaborations. You will facilitate partnerships across colleges and universities, lead grantsmanship training, and engage in professional development opportunities. Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and Coordinate: Manage the preparation of grant proposals involving multiple investigators from various departments, schools, and even off-campus institutions.

* Mentor Junior Faculty: Guide junior faculty through the grant process, helping them secure funding to establish and grow their research programs.

* Collaborate and Contribute: Participate in planning meetings, budget construction, writing, editing, and final preparation of applications to federal, state, corporate, and foundation sponsors.

* Interpret Guidelines: Obtain and interpret grant proposal guidelines and requirements from agency publications and regulations.

* Prepare Materials: Compile and prepare materials to comply with sponsor requirements.

* Provide Feedback: Offer detailed critiques of draft documents, identify missing information and potential issues, and work with investigators to strengthen applications.

* Editorial Services: Advise investigators on the form, style, and format of proposal materials.

* Organize Training: Work with the CAFNR Research Team to organize and present grants training for faculty, staff, and students.

* Policy Guidance: Collaborate with the CAFNR Grants Office to provide policy and practical guidance to the Associate Dean for Research.

* Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday

May be eligible to work remotely one day per week with supervisory approval.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with prior experience developing proposals, preparing/submitting grant applications from federal agencies.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875 - $60,000 Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Grade: GGS-010

Salary : $51,875 - $60,000
