UMKC Office of Undergraduate Admissions is accepting applications for an Admissions Ambassador Programs Coordinator. The role will involve Admissions Welcome Center management and inventory as well as managing the campus ambassador program. The position will report directly to the Assistant Director of Campus Visits.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Admissions Ambassador Program Management
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and management, and evaluation of campus ambassadors.
- Organize and facilitate regular check-ins with ambassadors to provide timely feedback, address concerns, and ensure office needs are met.
- Develop programming focused on leadership, communication skills, and other relevant professional skills for campus ambassadors with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing support and counseling to ambassadors to address any challenges they face within the program or the university.
- Collaborate with academic units and campus resources regarding ambassador needs and training.
- Implement strategies to improve retention among campus ambassadors, such as mentorship programs, recognition initiatives, and recommendation of academic support and applicable resources across campus.
- Welcome Center Management
- Other duties as assigned
To support our role as a forward-facing office to the public, Office of Admissions staff must adhere to regular in-office hours.
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Some evenings and weekends to support special events as needed.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, management, or a related field.
- Experience in student programming, career services, or leadership roles.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
- Willingness to work evening and weekend hours when needed
$51,875 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
