The University of Missouri’s School of Medicine’s, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking board-certified/board-eligible gastroenterologists who are committed to clinical excellence and with interest in contributing to the medical education of our fellows. 

About Us

The GI division is home to faculty with expertise across several areas including nutrition, IBD, and therapeutic endoscopy. Additionally, it offers a multidisciplinary team approach to all varieties of gastrointestinal disorders in collaboration with several specialties and subspecialties including surgery, radiology, pathology, oncology, and surgical oncology.

  • Out-patient Schedule:
    • 2-3 Procedure half-days
    • 2 clinic half-days
    • .5 day administrative day
  • Compensation: 
    • Base salary starting at $550,000
  • All ranks available; non-tenure track. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications

  • MD/DO, Board-certified in gastroenterology.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited GI fellowship. 

Overview of Educational Program

The ACGME-accredited gastroenterology fellowship program has a long history of graduating outstanding gastroenterologists. Graduates of our training program are in private practice and academic programs throughout the country. Our program, which is accredited by the ACGME, is designed to provide opportunities for fellows to develop clinical competence in the broad field of gastroenterology, including hepatology, endoscopy, clinical nutrition, and GI oncology. In keeping with ACGME requirements, a minimum of 18 months of clinical experience is required, including the equivalent of 5 months of hepatology. The other 18 months of training is dedicated to elective fields of clinical training and to research intended to enhance competency.
