Academic Neurology - Neuromuscular Medicine
The Department of Neurology at the University of Missouri – Columbia is seeking a full-time Neuromuscular Neurologist to join our vibrant and growing Neurology practice.
Join two Neuromuscular Neurologists, looking to expand our clinical offerings and research opportunities. Become involved in our Neurophysiology Fellowship mentoring one fellow per year. Clinical and some didactic teaching is expected, and the opportunity to precept in resident clinic is available.
Opportunity Details :
- Join a department of 30 physicians and neuroscientists
- Opportunities to assist in the department's growth, the education of medical students and residents, and pursuit of other academic / research interests.
- Strong collaborations with Physiatry within the accredited MDA and ALS Multi-disciplinary clinics
- Outreach component at nearby semi-private hospital can be considered
- No night call
- Practice Schedule M-F 8 AM-5 PM
- All ranks available commensurate with experience
- 4 nerve conduction techs performing 40 EMG’s / week
- 19 total techs doing EEG, EMG, EP’s and Epilepsy monitoring
- Epilepsy monitoring in 6 hardwired rooms 13 portable monitors for ICU rooms
- New Building with 22 more rooms with alarms and ceiling cameras and NSICU with 12 rooms with ceiling cameras

In addition to clinical opportunities, NextGen Precision Health, MU Center for Translational Neuroscience and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory offers a vast array of academic and research opportunities. Currently, there are established basic and translational research programs with 30 clinical trials in Neurology.

MU Department of Neurology offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary care in areas such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, comprehensive cerebrovascular disease, neurological intensive critical care, and headache. In addition, we have expertise in various subspecialty areas, including pediatric neurology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuropathology, neuro-rehab, and multiple sclerosis.
