Job Description
The position will supervise and schedule employees and animal care, liaison with investigators to provide research support, and maintain the operations of the vivarium. The titles under this position’s supervision could include Animal Care Workers, ALAT, LAT, CSM Operations Manager and Research Technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and instruct employees and students performing daily animal care
Maintain facility operations such as calling in work orders, ordering feed, cleaning/maintaining equipment, handling infectious agents and chemicals/materials
Communicating with investigators to ensure that research needs and animal care are accommodated
Coordinate quality control procedures for the vivarium, including record keeping/reporting and scheduling as necessary
Maintain census software on animals and inventory
Interview, hire, train, and evaluate animal care staff

Shift
Monday – Friday, 7 am-4 pm
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
A BA degree with major in biology, animal science, or the like or any equivalent. 4 years of technical experience in a research animal vivarium and may be substituted for a college degree; supervisory experience is preferred. AAALAS certification at LATg is preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of start date. Previous supervisor experience is a plus.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range:$51,875.00 - $81,744.00 per year
