The purpose of this position is to maintain both interior and exterior surfaces for buildings and structures throughout the campus.
Essential Job Duties
Essential Job Duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all-inclusive. There will be other duties as assigned. The individual holding this position will serve as a representative of the University and, as such, shall promote a positive impression by demonstrating a collegial and professional customer-service approach at all times.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Good customer service and interpersonal skills; Knowledge of products, materials, and solvents; Ability to work on-call and before/after normal work hours as requested.
Education and Experience
The educational requirement for this position is: High School diploma/GED Education substituted for experience? No This position requires: 5 years of related experience. Experience substituted for education? Yes
Licenses, Certification or Registrations
Certifications, licenses, professional designations, or other qualifications required for this position include: • Valid driver's license • Acceptable driving record Certifications, licenses, professional designations, or other qualifications preferred for this position include: • Lead base paint renovator • Certified man lift operator • Experienced sandblaster.

Essential Job Duties
- Select appropriate paint brush, roller, spray applicator, sponge, traffic marking applicator, or electric sander in application of products to surfaces on campus. 2.) Clean, sand, burn, scrape, shellac, and apply putty and fillers in preparation of new and old surfaces for painting. 3.) Paint and refinish internal and external surfaces of buildings and dormitories, athletic facilities, recreational areas, streets, utility poles and furniture. 4.) Prepare markings for streets and parking areas in conjunction with traffic control to obtain the maximum usable spaces. 5.) Strip and trim interior and exterior walls, ceilings and other surfaces. 6.) Arrange or prepare staging, scaffolds, ladders and related equipment for safety in all paint projects. 7.) Use sandblast and aerial equipment as required. 8.) Maintain proper care and storage of equipment. Account for labor and material usage and complete paperwork as required. 9.) Finish and refinish new and old furniture by stripping and sanding, applying putty, gloss, sealer or varnish. 10.) Prepare and letter trash receptacles. Prepare walls to obtain a smooth surface for application of sizing materials and proper application of wallpaper.
