Brief Summary of Job Description
Working in Undergraduate Admissions and collaborating with academic departments and other university offices, the Assistant Director of Enrollment Experiences guides and supports on-campus experiences for prospective students, their families and guests, to ensure a positive experience and contribute to UNK’s enrollment objectives. Conceptualizes and coordinates with campus partners to plan, prepare for and execute events and experiences that involve prospective students, and leads/carries out new and established Admissions campus events such as Admitted Student Day and New Student Enrollment. Establishes annual calendar and promotion timeline for campus enrollment events. Delivers recruitment presentations to a variety of audiences during recruitment and enrollment events. Plans, develops and implements pre- and post-event communications, registration and other logistics through CRM. Coordinates or supports event planning including rooms, catering, materials, agendas, program-development, parking, wayfinding and other logistics. Evaluates/assesses event and participant outcomes, tracks and reports data through reports and dashboards. Is point of contact for special campus guests and VIP tours. This position reports to the Director of Admissions and is part of the Admissions events and visits team.
Job Duties
College and department events: Creates master plan and calendar for recurring/established and new prospective-student events with campus academic partners and units. Establishes event objectives/goals, evaluation methods, information-sharing and follow-ups. Coordinates or supports event planning including room reservations, catering, materials, parking and other logistics. Helps create event promotions, agendas, scheduled activities, registrations, evaluation and reporting. Helps guide or creates event plans to assure consistently excellent prospective student events. Helps guide concepts/themes, brand elements and timely promotion to maximize attendance.
Undergraduate Admissions events: Plans, executes and oversees existing Admissions’ admitted student/enrollment events (Admitted Student Day, Junior Preview Day, Transfer Days). Coordinates with campus partners (colleges and departments) on communications/marketing promotions and materials to support interactions with prospective students at enrollment events. Facilitates data reporting and tracking for recruitment events.
New Student Enrollment: Leads Admissions staff and supporting event team to plan and execute New Student Enrollment (summer). Supports hiring, training and managing NSE student leaders and communication/collaboration with other NSE partners. In collaboration with the CRM team, develops and implements NSE support plans to facilitate pre-advising/pre-NSE inventory and data-sharing with Loper Success Hub. Collaborates with Student and Family Transitions to guide new students to orientation/welcome/onboarding activities and communication.
Data collection, reporting and analyses: In collaboration with the CRM team, develops and implements event support plans to capture prospective student information, and provides comprehensive, branded, pre- and post-event communications. Coordinates with campus partners on communications/marketing promotions and materials to support interactions with prospective students at enrollment events
VIP tours: Is primary campus contact for, and occasionally conducts, campus tours for visiting guests. Trains/maintains campus volunteer tour guides for prospective staff/faculty candidates and dignitaries/VIPs
Guide on events best practices: Consult/guide and represent Enrollment Management division units in planning other (non-recruitment) campus events, such as lectures, conferences, student engagement activities, fairs, workshops by developing checklists, vendor lists and attending planning meetings as a campus “best practice” resource.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; two years of event management experience. Excellent communication, management and problem solving skills. Ability to interact with and lead individuals and groups with confidence and precision.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree; 3-5 years event experience or experience with college student events or higher education.

8 - 5 M-F with occasional weekends during peak recruitment seasons
