The UNK Department of Counseling and School Psychology has graduate assistant positions available for the 2025-2026 academic year. CSP GA's enhance our department's academic initiatives and priorities and the recruitment and retention of graduate students. These GA positions are unique opportunities for graduate students acting in multiple roles to expand their instructional and clinical experiences and to earn tuition remission and a monthly stipend.
Job Duties
Assist with Departmental projects (e.g. School Psychology Internship Fair, Kent Estes Justice for All Conference, International Collaborative Research Symposium, etc.)
Collaborate with the CSP Office Associate.
Leadership in enrollment and recruitment efforts by meeting with prospective students, scheduling and attending career fairs, coordination classroom and student organization recruitment visits.
Serve as leaders in Student Organizations (GrASP & CSI)
Assist with student orientation, social programs, and peer mentorship for academic success.
Engage and assist in research being conducted by program faculty.
Conduct literature reviews and gather information for faculty research and projects.
Provide teaching and clinical assistance with faculty supervision.
Create surveys on Qualtrics, disseminate, collect and analyze the results.
Assist Program Committee Chairs with accreditation, conduct program assessment and results.
Assist the Department Chair in administrative duties to the department.
Report to GA Supervisor and faculty as assigned.
Provide leadership in social advocacy and public policy initiatives.
Other duties as assigned by faculty, Office Associate and/or Department Chair.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Admitted to a graduate degree program in the Counseling and School Psychology Department.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Evidence of academic success and student leadership during undergraduate education.
Technology skills to work with
Work experience in related field.
Physical Demands Schedule 19 hours per week between normal working hours with occasional evening and travel to recruitment events. Desired Start Date 08/25/2025 Position End Date (if temporary) 05/15/2026 Special Instructions to Applicant
