Will monitor and support camps in the Durham Science Center building for Aim for the Stars math and science summer camps. Must actively participate in all training prior to the start of camp. Assist in monitoring attendance sheets, ensuring that campers are properly signed in and out. Set and enforce camp rules and expectations with both staff and campers. Report/address any staff or camper behavior/disciplinary issues with the appropriate individuals. Inventory camp and first aid supplies; requisition as needed. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive public image by addressing questions and concerns from staff, patrons, participants, and parents immediately. Keep program supplies, equipment, and facility space clean and organized. Identify and observe equipment daily for possible maintenance needs and adjustments, report maintenance needs to the director. Constantly motivates co-workers and encourages teamwork. Maintain medication and allergy records. Manage and distribute camp tee shirts. Management and acquisition of materials requested by teachers/counselors. Communicate any accidents, safety concerns, maintenance issues, parent complaints, or other pertinent information to the director. Beware of camp medications and allergies and administer medications if need be. Administer first aid to campers if needed.

Work Schedule
MWF 8:15am-4:00pm; T/R 8:15am-5:30pm. Commit to working all eight weeks from June 2-August 1. Off July 4th week.
Additional Duties
Required Qualifications
Must have current Teaching Certificate or have documentation of enrollment in Teacher Education Program. Must be outgoing and friendly. Must demonstrate leadership qualities and ability to deal with stressful situations. Must be able to respond to the needs of participants and staff. Must commit to all 8 weeks of camp.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferably taught/counseled/participated in Aim for the Stars camp. CPR and AED certificate for adult and child helpful. Although not required.
