Essential Functions
The Assistant Coach for the Men’s Soccer program will assist in all aspects of the sport program including coaching, recruiting, film breakdown, budget management and fund raising, managing distribution of athletic equipment, student-athlete mentoring, monitoring academic progress, and ensuring program is compliant with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. The Assistant Coach will promote the team, as well as University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) and participate in community outreach.
Leadership and Management:
- Instruct student-athletes in the sport, which includes skill instruction, motivation and conduct session practices.
- Provides effective feedback to student-athletes during competition.
- Anticipates needs of program, works with support staff and members of Omaha Athletics to ensure execution of responsibilities.
- Coordinate programs recruiting efforts including identifying prospective student-athletes, attending showcase events, and maintaining daily dialogue with prospects.
- Create and maintain a positive culture within the program.
- Recruit quality prospective student-athletes.
Strategy and Planning:
- Supervise and manage recruiting efforts, including off campus contact and on campus visits, and maintain NCAA Compliance within recruiting guidelines.
- Oversee practice plans and give feedback to ensure effective training and development.
- Implement student-athlete development for the team both within and outside of the field of competition. Create an evaluation system for individuals work to track progress and development.
- Plans and directs the sport training of student athletes. Assesses student-athletes’ skills and designs strategy to enhance skillset. Works directly with student athletes at practices and demonstrates proper technique; facilitates competition preparation and tournament management.

Required Qualifications
Previous soccer experience at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred education is a Bachelor’s Degree.
