Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong clinical and crisis management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated and self-directed, able to work independently while also contributing positively to a team-oriented environment. Experience in an area of mental health pertinent to adult students (e.g. trauma, grief, sexual orientation/identity, stress/anxiety, relationships, dimensions of wellness, life transitions, etc.). Ability to effectively counsel students and consult with faculty and staff on a wide range of issues. Ability to recognize those individuals whose therapeutic issues/needs are beyond the scope of solution-focused counseling and ability to provide appropriate and timely referrals.
