Position Summary
Dr. Wei Shi’s laboratory at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Associate. The research of the Shi Lab focuses on the epigenetic mechanisms that regulate embryonic heart development, with a particular emphasis on chromatin remodeling complexes (Robbe and Shi, et al., Genes & Development, 2022; Shi, et al., Circulation Research, 2023; Shi et al., Development, 2024; Shi and Sheng, et al., Developmental Cell, 2021). The long-term goal of the Shi Lab is to leverage these developmental insights to innovate regenerative approaches for treating heart diseases in adults. The successful candidate will lead a research program to understand how chromatin remodeling complexes control cardiomyocyte maturation and cellular interactions during neonatal heart development. This position offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with the Department of Internal Medicine and the Mary and Holland Dick Regenerative Medicine Center, providing extensive training and networking opportunities in cardiovascular disease, developmental biology, and biomaterials-based regenerative medicine. Recruited candidates will benefit from a competitive salary and benefits package, along with comprehensive training in grant writing, application processes, and career development. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
