As a summer camp teacher, you will be responsible for leading engaging activities for children between 3rd-9th grade in a science / math camp setting. Curriculum and all materials will be provided for you. You will help create a fun, educational and safe, inclusive environment where campers feel comfortable expressing themselves and trying new things. Teachers will encourage positive behaviors and assist with behavioral challenges by using positive reinforcement and conflict resolution techniques. You will be responsible for providing clear instructions and guidance to campers and adapting activities as needed based on camper interests and needs, ensuring all children are engaged and included. Teachers will help with supervision throughout the day to ensure camper safety and well-being by following camp safety protocols and guidelines.
Work Schedule
M-F 8 : 00am-4 : 00pm. Commit to working as many weeks as possible between June 2 and August 1. Off July 4th week.
Additional Duties
Required Qualifications
Teaching Certification or currently enrolled in Teacher Education program.
Must be outgoing and friendly. Must have an expertise in science and / or math. Must be able to work with a range of school children and multiple teachers and counselors.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferably taught / counseled / participated in Aim for the Stars camp. CPR and AED certificate for adult and child helpful. Preferably not working elsewhere on campus concurrent with AFTS position.
