Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno, College of Liberal Arts is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Program Coordinator, Special Events to join our team. This position is instrumental in the strategic planning, seamless execution, and innovative coordination of events produced by the School of the Arts (SOTA).

The Program Coordinator, Special Events will leverage strong organizational skills, creative problem-solving, and exceptional attention to detail to ensure every event achieves excellence. Key responsibilities include spearheading event registration, crafting compelling marketing themes and materials, managing program logistics, and overseeing on-site operations such as set-up, strike, and volunteer management. Additionally, this role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with artists, contractors, community partners, and internal stakeholders to bring events to life while maintaining a high level of professionalism and adaptability.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Special Events, the position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community engagement, arts programming, and audience experiences within SOTA.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Required Qualifications

High School Degree and four years of related work experience; OR an Associate’s Degree and three years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s Degree two years of related work experience; OR a Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience.

Related Experience: Experience in planning, marketing, organizing and implementing events for non-profit, government, or public arts groups

Preferred Qualifications

Graphic Design, photography, videography

Certification and Licensure:

Valid driver’s license

Variable work schedule

May need to work some weekends and evenings

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee’s spouse or domestic partner.
