The University of New England’s Center for Excellence in Public Health (CEPH) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager (PM) to lead the administration of the Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP), a five-year, $5 million cooperative agreement with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). This is an exciting opportunity designed to enhance geriatrics capabilities of the health care workforce in Maine, particularly within rural and tribal communities.

The Program Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of the AgingME2 program, working closely with the Program Director to achieve the program’s goals. The PM will report directly to the Program Director and will play a critical role in the success of the program by coordinating efforts across multiple stakeholders, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with HRSA requirements.

Responsibilities
Program Management
- Oversee the implementation and administration of the AgingME2 program, including the budget, ensuring all activities align with grant objectives and timelines.
- Supervise program staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Liaise with program partners, governing bodies, and community stakeholders, including tribal communities, to promote program initiatives and foster strong relationships.
- Work with the program’s Lead and Secondary Evaluators for the timely completion and submission of all required award-related reports.
- Apply principles of population health to address aging and direct care workforce issues within rural and tribal communities.
- Work with PD to ensure the efficient operation of program activities, including budget management and reporting.
- Utilize Google Workspace tools effectively and demonstrate familiarity with learning management systems to support program activities.
- BA in in Public Health, Gerontology, Social Work, or a related field or equivalent relevant job experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in public health or a related field.
- Experience in geriatrics, gerontology preferred
- Strong knowledge of population health principles, aging and direct care workforce issues, rural health, and engagement with tribal communities.
- Proven experience in supervising staff and managing complex projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace tools and familiarity with learning management systems.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
