The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of New Hampshire seeks applicants to fill a benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track Lecturer position to begin on August 18, 2025. This is a one-year, non-renewable position.
Duties/Responsibilities
The principal role of this position is to teach a range of courses in support of the different academic programs offered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses ranging from large introductory lecture/studio classes in undergraduate physics to advanced classes in the physics graduate program, as well as seminars and recitations within the Department of Physics and Astronomy. We are especially interested in candidates with a background in theoretical physics who can teach the core undergraduate and graduate classes in classical mechanics, mathematical physics, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and statistical mechanics, as well as electives in condensed matter physics and related fields.
Requirements
Individuals should have a PhD in physics or a related field and will be evaluated on their academic credentials, their commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and their potential to meet the University of New Hampshire’s goal of creating an educational environment that fosters diversity, inclusion, and quality engagement for all.
