What are the responsibilities and job description for the PhD student position at University of New Hampshire?
Graduate Student Opportunities in Fruit Ripening and Molecular Breeding – Dr. Wang’s Lab at UNH
Dr. Wang’s Lab at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) is seeking motivated graduate students (PhD level) with a strong background in plant molecular biology, plant genetics, biotechnology, or related fields to join a dynamic research team focused on advancing fruit quality through cutting-edge genetic and molecular tools.
Project Overview
Using tomato as a model system, our research aims to uncover the physiological, genetic, and molecular mechanisms driving fruit ripening and softening. The ultimate goal is to develop novel tomato genotypes with improved fruit quality traits. This project integrates CRISPR/Cas-based gene editing, omics technologies, and detailed phenotyping to understand the genetic control and cell wall dynamics involved in ripening.
