Duties/Responsibilities
- Review and assess student portfolios to determine the alignment of prior learning with academic course outcomes.
- Evaluate the validity and relevance of workplace training and industry-recognized credentials for academic credit.
- Provide detailed feedback and recommendations based on the assessment of prior learning documentation.
- Collaborate with academic departments to ensure consistency and accuracy in the assessment process.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments and decisions.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in prior learning assessment and recognition.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to PLA.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree relevant academic discipline.
- Experience in higher education, particularly in academic assessment or curriculum development.
- Familiarity with prior learning assessment processes and standards.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency with online assessment tools and technology.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating and documenting assessments.
- Ability to interpret and apply academic standards and criteria.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assessments simultaneously.
- Effective communication and collaboration with faculty and staff.
