Duties/Responsibilities
- Email Campaigns: Write compelling subject lines, headlines, and body copy to maximize open rates, click-through rates and conversions.
- Web Copy: Create persuasive landing pages, descriptions and CTAs that drive user engagement and other key objectives.
- Campaign Taglines: Develop memorable and impactful brand messaging that resonates with target audiences.
- Advertising: Craft attention-grabbing copy for online and offline ads, including social media, search ads, display banners, print and OOH campaigns.
- Print Marketing Materials: Write clear, engaging, and persuasive copy for brochures, flyers, direct mail and other print collateral that supports marketing initiatives.
- Audience Insights: Leverage research and data to tailor messaging to specific audience segments, ensuring relevance and impact.
- Brand Voice: Maintain and refine a consistent brand voice across all touchpoints while adapting tone as needed for different campaigns or platforms.
- Collaboration: Partner with designers, marketers and other team members to ensure alignment between visuals and copy for cohesive messaging.
- Testing and Optimization: A/B test copy to identify high-performing messaging and continuously optimize for better results.
- Trend Awareness: Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor strategies, and best practices in persuasive copywriting.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of professional copywriting experience, with a portfolio showcasing persuasive copy for emails, web, ads, taglines, brochures and OOH campaigns.
- Skills:
- Produces high-quality, polished content that aligns with brand voice and resonates with target audiences.
- Refines copy for clarity, tone and impact, ensuring grammatical precision and stylistic consistency.
- Crafts compelling copy designed to inspire action and align with marketing goals and audience needs.
- Distills complex or technical concepts into clear, concise, and engaging messaging for diverse audiences.
- Applies SEO best practices, keyword optimization, and digital marketing strategies to enhance content visibility.
- Tailors messaging to specific audiences, ensuring relevance and resonance through careful consideration of demographics.
- Uses analytics to measure content performance and refine strategies based on data insights.
- Collaborates with designers, marketers and other team members to develop integrated campaigns.
- Manages multiple priorities and meets deadlines without compromising quality.
- Soft Skills:
- Possesses a strong ability to generate innovative ideas and bring fresh perspectives to projects and problem-solving.
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality in all aspects of work.
- Excels at presenting and “selling” ideas and concepts to key stakeholders.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Provides strategic guidance to junior writers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Tools: Proficiency with tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Wrike). Experience with A/B testing tools is a bonus.
- Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or a related field.
- Experience working in a marketing or advertising agency.
- Knowledge of AP Style.
