The Department of Allied Health in the School of Health Sciences at the University of New Haven is seeking to hire a 12-month Non-Tenure Track Faculty for the Physician Associate Program for fall 2025.This position will support in all aspects of the program to include teaching didactic content, participating in the program’s ongoing assessment, compliance with ARC-PA standards, student advising and service on assigned committees, and support of the clinical year student experiences.

There are two Clinical Assistant Professor positions available- the first is open to new graduates; the second prefers a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a PA-C or teaching experience in a PA program. An earned doctorate combined with experience teaching in healthcare fields may be considered.

You will:
- Teach content within the physician associate program.
- Support the clinical coordinator in establishing clinical affiliations and support of clinical year students.
- Adhere to ARC-PA standards.
- Support and contribute to the program’s ongoing assessment plan.
- Provide advising services for physician associate students.
- Participate in assessment of students’ clinical and technical skills.
- Promote the mission of the program.
- Assesses clinical documentation during students’ clinical placement experiences
- Participate in student assessment throughout the program.
- Serve on assigned committees on the program, school, and university level.
- Participate in the program’s student remediation process.
You need:
- Requires a minimum of a master's degree.
- NCCPA Certification (new graduates awaiting PANCE scores may apply, but must successfully pass PANCE prior to beginning employment.)
- Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant or physician associate program.
- Eligible for a Connecticut physician assistant license.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in the teaching role.
- Commitment to fostering a student supportive learning environment.
- Demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and innovation, active-learning and student engagement of students with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – in the classroom, with colleagues, in written work, community and in listening.
- Experience with course and program development.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
