Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate Soccer Coach to join our College Women's Club Soccer Team at the University of New Haven and lead training sessions for players and to be at all games. This position will be for fall 2025-spring 2026. The main season runs in the fall semester, which is from beginning of September to mid October. The Spring semester, which is the off-season but still with some games and practices, runs from mid March to end of April. We have practices 2 times during the week for 2 hours each, usually between 6pm-10pm depending on the semester. On the weekends, we have between 1-3 games, depending on the schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in soccer coaching and a genuine enthusiasm for developing players.
Pay
This position is paid per semester. On average in the fall semester, head coach will be paid around $2000. While in the spring is closer to $1000, since there are not as many games. This is for a total of $3000. This is all subject to change before the season begins depending on how intense the schedule is for the semester and how much we are given for our budget for the year.
Duties
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance players' skills and performance
- Plan and conduct practice sessions focusing on technical skills, tactical strategies, and physical conditioning
- Provide constructive feedback to players to help them improve their game
- Organize and oversee team practices, games, tryouts and tournaments
- Foster a positive and supportive environment to encourage player development
- Collaborate with the assistant coach to coordinate team activities
Qualifications
- Previous experience in soccer coaching or playing at a competitive level
- Knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with players and staff
- Certification in sports coaching or related field is a plus, but not required
- Ability to motivate and inspire players to reach their full potential
