Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse in the Orthopedics department, you will serve as a unit educator, master teacher, and preceptor. You will utilize your expertise to incorporate nursing processes into patient care plans and facilitate evidenced-based research in specialized areas.
Responsibilities:
- Provide educational leadership to enhance patient care within clinical protocols.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving clinical skills through the master clinician and master preceptor model.
- Perform as a unit educator while maintaining clinical skills by instructing students from the College of Nursing on our home unit or assisting with staffing.
- Consult with the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
- Collaborate with other educators to plan and implement curricula.
- Monitor trends and implement educational strategies to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, providing specialized care within nursing protocols.
- Participate in educational programs and professional development activities to enhance growth and knowledge.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred).
- 18 months of directly related experience (three years preferred).
- CPR certification for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers within 30 days.
- RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
- Instructor certification in Unit-Required Certifications within 90 days.
Working Conditions
This role requires heavy work exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. You will also be exposed to chemicals and bio-hazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment.
Salary : $30 - $47
