Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to assigned patients, as well as clinical leadership and relief charge duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medication, documenting clinical findings, and implementing individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement effective patient care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensure proper consent has been obtained, and participate in emergency measures as needed.
- Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information and answer telephones and triage calls according to departmental policy.
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel upon successful completion of preceptor training.
Qualifications
- Education: Essential - Program Graduate; Nonessential - Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience: No minimum experience required.
- Credentials: Essential - RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM, CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days.
Working Conditions
The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with diverse populations, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for long periods. A background check will be performed on the successful candidate.
