Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide safe, direct patient care in the ambulatory setting. As a clinical leader, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, mentorship, and education to staff.
The ideal candidate will have a Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate degree, a valid RN license in NM or reciprocal agreement, and 3 years of directly related experience. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo are also preferred.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires heavy work, with exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. The working conditions include moderate exposure to chemicals/dangerous equipment/materials.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Assist physician with special tests, procedures, and complex treatments.
- Process data and generate reports; assist in reception and discharge areas; handle patient calls and triage using documentation.
- Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information; document medical history or chief complaint; triage and initiate care for walk-in patients.
- Document lab cultures; ensure follow-up on abnormal results.
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients.
- Assess patient's condition and nursing needs; set goals and utilize appropriate nursing actions to achieve goals.
- Administer medications and perform routine treatments.
- Participate in orientation and evaluation of new personnel.
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with procedures by other UH departments and clinics.
- Maintain supply stock levels and monitor supply and medicine requisitions.
- Record and report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to medical staff.
- Serve as a mentor to patients to promote self-management, hope, and empowerment.
- Provide education for patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and the use of prescriptive medical treatment.
- Foster a culture of patient safety by questioning current policies and processes, identifying and reporting potential or actual patient safety concerns, and encouraging patients to actively participate in their own care.
Compensation
The minimum offer is $29.22/hr., and the maximum offer is $47.33/hr. Compensation for this role is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, and other business and organizational considerations.
