The Division of the Center of Environmental Health Promotions (COEHP), within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a motivated, outgoing, professional Administrative Assistant II to run our clinical front desk in the Employee Occupational Health Services Clinic (EOHS). This person should have excellent communication skills, value customer service, be detail oriented and have proven time management skills.
The Administrative Assistant 2 will be the first line of communication for our patients, staff, students, vendors and residents and therefore should possess the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person. Computer skills are essential. This candidate will perform a variety of administrative support duties for the Division to include: reception duties, answering phones, filing, processing financial transactions, performing data entry, maintaining schedules, mail distribution/mailbox maintenance, Master Directory data entry etc. and special projects as assigned.
The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality work in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation, training, and education. - All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Experience in a Medical Clinic or previous experience working as a receptionist, or similar administrative setting
- Proficiency with: Microsoft Office Suite and data base input
- Experience with Powerchart or other databases
- Superb communication skills and the ability to handle high level of interaction amongst several entities, both internal and external to the University
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties and delegate appropriately
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information
