Position Summary

The College of Education and Human Sciences (COEHS) invites applicants for its Administrative Assistant 3 position. This position supports the COEHS Office of the Dean with activities specific to alumni engagement, donor relations, event planning, and college initiatives and projects. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with professionalism and a positive attitude.

The Administrative Assistant 3 will complete a broad range of duties including, but not limited to: coordinate meetings, special events, and college functions; serve as a liaison with alumni, donors and external stakeholders; compose administrative correspondence; complete purchasing and travel; update and maintain records and databases; and, provide general administrative and clerical support.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Professional experience in administrative support in a higher education setting.
  • Professional experience planning, scheduling, and coordinating calendars, meetings, and events.
  • Professional experience creating correspondence and reports, and recording meeting minutes.
  • Professional experience in alumni and/or donor relations.
  • Experience with UNM fiscal and purchasing processes and systems.
