Some skillsets we're looking for include:
* Demonstrated ability to generate story ideas, conduct interviews and write news-style articles on diverse subjects on tight deadlines.
* Strong copy-editing skills.
* Knowledge of journalism principles, especially with regard to accuracy, fairness, ethics, and balance.
* Ability to adapt material to suit the needs of the target audience while maintaining a coherent and appropriate style and tone.
* Working familiarity with the Associate Press Stylebook.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, community members, and a wide range of stakeholders.
* Working familiarity with local, national, and health care news media.
* A team player who thrives working in team settings and with others.

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
* Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
* Proficient in videography, photography, non-linear video editing, and photo-editing.
* Experience in health care and/or higher education communications.
