What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract and Grant Support Manager position at University of New Mexico?
Duties and responsibilities:
Develops and prepares complex technical documents, to include grant applications, planning grants, technical reports, project and status reports, and budget forecasts; writes and edits proposals and communication materials. Develops budgets and business plans for proposals and project efforts; reviews potential research projects and initiatives and develops appropriate funding strategies.
Develops, prepares, analyzes and reviews grant budgets for compliance with policies, funding agency requirements, and appropriate accounting protocol and procedures.
Provides advice and guidance to researchers and/or administrators on the application of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures; serves as liaison between the university and funding agencies on various issues pertaining to proposals, awards, and/or budgets.
Provides active leadership in the identification, solicitation, and cultivation of major funding agencies, to include State and Federal agencies, national laboratories, corporations, and foundations.
Initiates, guides and facilitates the research of funding opportunities for the activities of the unit; maintains data on funding sources and a library of agency policies, procedures, and documentation.

Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to manage multiple grants/contracts simultaneously.
- Proficiency in grant management systems and financial software
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them in a practical context.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to mentor and guide a team
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and implement process improvements in grant administration.
- Experience working in an academic, research, or healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with funding agencies, researchers, and institutional leadership.
- Experience with financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, and reporting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Salary : $4,689 - $6,710
