What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Student and Career Services position at University of New Mexico?
The UNM School of Law invites applications for the position of Director of Student & Career Services. The Director works with and provides direct supervision to a staff of four professionals to create an inclusive community that fosters a sense of wellness and belonging through student-centered programs and services, to provide academic and bar prep support that will help students reach their full academic potential, and to guide students and alumni to success on their self-directed paths from law school through their professional careers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities (see the UNM job description for more information):
- Oversee and coordinate the Student & Career Service Center's day-to-day activities and operations.
- Oversee the supervision of unit personnel, including work allocation, training, problem resolution, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement programs, initiatives, and communications dealing with student wellness, academic success, and career planning.
- Establish, monitor, and evaluate the Center's goals, policies, and procedures.
- Report bar exam passage, employment statistics, and other data as required.
- Coordinate events and present lectures and workshops in accordance with the Law School's established goals for student and academic success.
- Facilitate and coordinate student organization activities.
- Mediate student accommodation requests with main campus, the law school registrar, and law school faculty.

Master's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
