Position Summary
The University of New Mexico's Student Health & Counseling (SHAC) is recruiting for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Health Educator .
Position Summary : Under general supervision, plans, implements, and evaluates health education and / or clinical training programs, conferences, and other associated activities for individual, group, and / or community needs. Collaborates with other health specialists to ascertain health needs, develop desirable health goals, and determine availability of professional health services. Develops and maintain cooperation between public, civic, professional, and voluntary agencies.
Additional duties & responsibilities will include :
- Create, promote, and manage programming for sexual and physical health programs
- Manage 'Barrier Necessities' program
- Knowledgeable about, and creation of, social media content
- Collaborate with various student / staff populations
The Student Health & Counseling Center is located at the center of campus. The clinic provides comprehensive primary, and mental health services and has a laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, case management, and health promotions on site. Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with fitness / exercise, nutrition, or yoga is a plus.
