What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lecturer III Advanced Practice Providers in Emergency Medicine position at University of New Mexico?
The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, is seeking full-time Lecturers with Advanced Placement Provider (APP) credentials. This position will primarily work clinically at the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) and Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) Emergency Rooms.
The Department of Emergency Medicine has 10 full and part-time Faculty APP's credentialed to work with 88 attending physicians. In addition, the Department Faculty APP's also work alongside UNM Hospital APP's in the clinical setting. Emergency Medicine APP's perform department triage, treat patients in the Pediatric ER and in the resuscitation and trauma room. We provide classroom and clinical education for the UNM SOM PA Students, EM PA Residents as well as medical and pharmacy students. We have identified need of Advanced Placement Providers with expertise in clinical and academic areas of emergency medicine.
UNM Hospital is New Mexico's only Level I Trauma Center and the only Children's Hospital. UNM Health System providers specialize in over 150 areas and receive 900,000 outpatient visits, 22,000 surgical cases and 100,000 emergency room visits each year. Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Board certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- State of New Mexico
Medical PA/NP license or ability to obtain NM license and NM DEA at time
of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical skills relevant to emergency medicine or specialty area
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients and other health professionals as well as with multi-lingual populations
- Personal and professional alignment with the values of the Department and the UNM School of Medicine
- Commitment and activities related to community engagement
- Interest or experiences in scholarly, educational, or administrative work to include coaching and mentoring
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
