| Position Summary | The University of New Mexico, Valencia Campus is acceptingapplications for Lecturer III inCriminal Justice, a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track position. Theposition begins in Fall (August) 2025. Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, theUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of theUniversity of New Mexico. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, ValenciaCampus offers vocational and technical courses as well as academic transfercourses to the citizens of Valencia and northern Socorro counties. The facultyand staff serve a student body of approximately 2,500 each semester. UNM offers a robust benefits package, access to resources,and perks from discounted event tickets to tuition remission. Summer teaching is available, but not required, not to exceed 3/9thsof base salary. Summary of duties and responsibilities: Provide 27 credit hours of classroom instruction acrossthe academic year (fall and spring semesters) in Criminal Justice or relatedsubjects based on the applicant’s qualifications and education.Responsibilities include maintaining attendance, scholastic, and studentrecords, as well as posting and maintaining office hours as per UNM ValenciaCampus policy. Also, there is expected participation in the lecturer promotioncommittee, as well as other college committees, curriculum developmentinitiatives, outcomes assessment, professional development (directly related toteaching field), classroom technology training, departmental projects, andother areas of service and scholarship as appropriate. |
