What are the responsibilities and job description for the Open Rank of Pediatrics Infectious Disease position at University of New Mexico?
Our department provides primary care for children in Bernalillo county as well as tertiary care for children from all over New Mexico as well as southern Colorado, eastern Arizona, and west Texas. We provide care for patients with uncomplicated and complicated infections, unusual infections including plague and Hantavirus, and infections in immunocompromised patients with cancer, organ transplants, or rheumatologic illnesses.
Academic rank and track commensurate with experience and skills. It is an excellent career development opportunity in areas of patient care, medical education including resident and medical student teaching, and / or research including clinical trials. The UNM Health Sciences Center is a nationally recognized leader in medical education and a major center for pediatric care and research in New Mexico.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) approved Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases by time of hire
- Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Pediatric Infectious Disease
- Must be able to obtain a New Mexico medical license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical experience in academic or private practice settings that care for pediatric patients
- Experience teaching pediatric residents
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
