Position Summary
The Design and Planning Assistance Center in the School of Architecture and Planning seeks to hire a Professional Consultant on an on-call basis to coordinate housing-related initiatives, focused on those that address housing precarity. This on-call term staff position which will continue until the funding can no longer support the position or until the position is no longer needed for the project.
Duties of the Professional Consultant will include : Convene a Community Advisory Committee to inform and support these initiatives, drawn from UNM, government agencies, and community organizations; identify additional community partners and resources; develop / propose a program of consultation and co-creation with partners; seek and apply for funding to support these initiatives; work with DPAC director to plan, organize, and implement strategies for generating external research funding; identify funding opportunities that align with goals of the Housing Justice Initiative; advise on proposal development, policy planning, and research-related matters at the UNM Design and Planning Assistance Center (DPAC); represent UNM SAP DPAC / HIVE / Housing Justice Initiative at community and / or business meetings, committees, and coalitions; promote existing and new programs and / or policies; prepare analyses, reports, and other documentation for publication; present findings in various venues, and maintain Housing Justice reports and records.
GOALS :
1. Give shape and contour to and develop structure for DPAC's housing initiatives, which are supported by grants and donations.
2. Refine the Housing Justice Initiative's role at UNM and in New Mexico while building on 2023 proposals submitted to U.S. Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and UNM Grand Challenges.
OBJECTIVES :

6. Advise on proposal development, policy planning, and research-related matters at the UNM Design and Planning Assistance Center (DPAC).
7. Represent UNM SAP DPAC / HIVE / Housing Justice Initiative at community and / or business meetings, committees, and coalitions; promote existing and new programs and / or policies.
8. Prepare analyzes, reports, and other documentation for publication; presents findings in various venues, TBD.
9. Maintain Housing Justice reports and records.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications :
1. Master of Public Health and / or Master of Architecture degree
2. Familiarity with housing related issues and initiatives
3. Experience identifying funding sources and developing proposals
