Job Description :
The role of the Registered Nurse requires providing direct nursing care to assigned patients, working within the nursing process and adhering to hospital policies. This position involves serving as a role model, promoting a positive work environment and quality patient care.
Responsibilities :
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients
- Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies
- Implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age specific considerations
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients
- Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information
- Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; document and communicate clinical findings
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients / families in accordance with Hospitals standards
