What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temp Parttime Faculty - Culinary Art Food Preservation Instructor position at University of New Mexico?
The UNM-Taos Department of Culinary Arts seeks to hire a Temporary Part-Time Faculty member to teach the following subject area for Fall 2025.
CART293 T: Food Preservation: Students will learn skills related to food preservation course focused on sustainable food and agriculture, teaching you how to preserve food through techniques like canning and maximizing ingredient yield through fermentation and extraction.
We propose a base salary of $1,017.60 to $1,100.63 per credit hour depending on successful candidate's qualification. This posting if for face-to-face delivery of courses.
To teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission's accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met in these ways:
- A Bachelor's Degree and/or significant professional experience in food preservation.
- A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in food preservation or tested experience that is determined to be equivalent to the degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, particularly a community college.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
