What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temp Parttime Faculty - Individual, Family, and Community Education position at University of New Mexico?
The Department of Individual, Family & Community Education is seeking qualified temporary part time faculty members to teach graduate and undergraduate level classes in Family & Child Studies, Nutrition & Dietetics, Counselor Education, and Educational Psychology. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting with the class during assigned times, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the department.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the Individual, Family & Community Education Chair.

Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications must be consistent with Higher Learning Commission standards and compliant with the faculty hiring guidelines.
- Master's degree in Educational Psychology, Nutrition, Family Studies, Counselor Education, or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Educational Psychology, Nutrition, Family Studies, Counselor Education, or closely related field.
- Potential to teach online or certification or experience in online teaching.
- Potential to teach or demonstrated ability to teach at the college level.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success,
as well as working with broadly diverse communities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
