This position will work as part of the staff in the college’s enrollment team to provide quality academic advising to Nursing and Health Profession students in the college, assist with SOAR activities in the college and work with admissions in recruiting students to Nursing and Health Profession majors.*If selected for Academic Support Specialist, applicants will be assigned a grade 512 and will be hired in the range of $32,086.08 ($15.43/hr) - $42,781.44 ($20.57/hr). If selected for Academic Advisor, applicants will be assigned grade 511 and will be hired in the range of $35,347.52 ($16.99/hr) -$47,129.68 ($22.66/hr). FLSA status will be determined by the selected candidate’s placement within the salary ranges and the associated duties within.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Advise assigned cohort of Nursing and Health Profession majors;• Assist with advising and registration and "Meet Your Advisor" during SOAR;• Assist with SOAR “Meet Your College” freshmen and transfer events each summer and with NSO; • Utilize online scheduling tool to provide availability for appointments;• Work with current and prospective students both face-to-face and in online meetings; • Utilize current university software and tools, such as Banner, DegreeWorks, ARGOS, Slate, Canvas, Intelliboard , etc. as well as learn newly-implemented technology solutions;• Update advisor assignments; • Maintain Student records, adhere to university policies and maintain confidentiality with regard to academic status, advising, etc.; • Work with students at UNA and community colleges in their transition to the college; • Work with admissions in recruiting for the college and to organize events like Preview Day, Admitted Student Day, community college recruitment events, high school guidance counselor events, etc.;• Schedule college specific recruiting visits with community colleges in the region;• Perform all other duties as assigned.ADDITIONAL DUTIES: To be determined.
