Associate Director for Student Engagement

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina, UNC Asheville is the designated public liberal arts campus in the University of North Carolina system. Typical office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but additional weekend and evening hours will be needed to be successful in this position in meeting the needs of the student body and University.

Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, the Associate Director of Student Engagement provides leadership for student development and community engagement efforts and supports orientation and family engagement initiatives.

The Associate Director has the primary responsibility of providing opportunities for students to develop as leaders and citizens through the planning, coordination, and implementation of experiential and educational programs and initiatives. This position will develop and maintain a strong student team through intentional advising, ongoing training, and committee work.

The Associate Director works closely with campus and community partners to create high-quality and positive engagement experiences and to support students as they transition to life on campus, establish foundations for success, and cultivate community.
