Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit
Position duties include performing various duties as assigned by Equipment staff in equipment room; assisting in receiving equipment; taking inventory of equipment and moving it into proper areas of storage. The selected candidate also will assist with day-to-day equipment room tasks. The selected candidate will also check equipment in and out of the inventory system; maintenance of athletes equipment; pack trunks for travel games; organize equipment room; assist coaches with practice needs and assist in fitting of equipment.
Position Summary
The University of North Carolina is seeking a detail-oriented individual to assist the head and assistant equipment manager with daily duties in the football equipment room. This will be a 11 month position. Duties include, but are not limited to: Ordering, receiving, inventory, issuing, maintaining, and repairing uniforms and equipment; Helping oversee the laundry facility in the Kenan Football Center; Supervision of student workers; Assuring compliance with all NCAA , state, and university regulations.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Familiarity with athletic settings and procedures of athletic departments.
Understanding of equipment room procedures and how it is structured.
Knowledge of football equipment, computer skills to operate equipment inventory system, and familiarity with football players and staff.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Position requires the ability to move heavy objects up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
