Position Summary
This is a full-time, non-tenure track, open rank position for an academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology in the UNC Department of OB-GYN within the Division of General Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Midwifery. Responsibilities will include full scope obstetrics and gynecology clinical practice, including staffing of labor and delivery, performing major and minor gynecologic surgery and ambulatory practice; teaching of medical students, residents and fellows; and may include administrative leadership and clinical research. Practice locations will be at the UNC Women’s Hospital and Hillsborough Hospital. Ambulatory practice takes place in one of our outpatient clinics (Weaver Crossing in Chapel Hill, Hillsborough Hospital &/or Panther Creek in western Wake County). There are significant opportunities to develop clinical and educational programming as well as for leadership growth. This clinician will join a cohesive and diverse group that is committed to excellence in all facets of the academic specialist model. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or DO degree and completion of a 4-year ACGME approved OB-GYN residency program.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Sub-specialty training is not required, but expertise in the following areas will be given special consideration in the selection process: vulvar health, sexual medicine, LGBT health, women’s mental health.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be experienced and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical practice, while maintaining equanimity.
