Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research seeks to improve the health of individuals, families, and populations by understanding the problems, issues, and alternatives in the design and delivery of health care services. This is accomplished through an interdisciplinary program of research, consultation, technical assistance, and training that focuses on timely and policy-relevant questions concerning the accessibility, adequacy, organization, cost, and effectiveness of health care services, and the dissemination of this information to policymakers and the general public.

Position Summary
This person will be working with a small team of qualitative researchers to support analysis, reporting, and dissemination of a study of Health insurance navigators in North Carolina. Duties may include activities supporting the analysis of qualitative data, discussion with team members to develop themes, and distillation of research into policy briefs, posters, or manuscripts, as relevant.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
  • Course work in Public Health or similar
  • Experience with Qualitative Research Analysis
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be familiar with activities and responsibilities of health insurance navigators in North Carolina

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
  • Experience with supporting qualitative research projects.
