Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
Materials and Logistics procures materials, goods and services for Facilities Services construction, HVAC and maintenance shops to renovate, construct, repair and maintain campus buildings, utilities and grounds. Operates several storerooms for maintenance, repair and operating materials as well as materials for Housekeeping, Garage, lumber and filter requirements. Receives, issues and/or stages materials for funded jobs or service orders. Manages staged materials to include residual materials. Processes all material orders in a Facilities Services computerized tracking system as well as ConnectCarolina. Completes invoice process and approvals for University standing orders, purchase orders, check requests and credit card processing. Ensures all procured materials are charged to the correct accounts and reconciles invoicing (purchasing and payables) through Cost Accounting and University Accounts Payable Office.
Position Summary
Operation of Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) Warehouse, including but not limited to receiving, storing, issuing, and inventorying supplies, materials, and tools, ordering inventory replenishment, assisting customers, stocking shelves and processing paperwork. Operation of Housekeeping, Garage, and Lumber warehouses as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge, skills and abilities in storeroom operation. Ability to use a computer. Ability to provide excellent customer service. NC Driver’s License or ability to obtain prior to start date.
Ability to report to work in support of essential (mandatory) University operations, even when adverse weather or other emergency conditions may require the University to close.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Knowledge of AiM and Connect Carolina, UNC warehousing experience, and ability to operate a forklift.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Ability to work in a warehouse with temperature variations. Ability to bend, stoop, climb, crawl, push, pull, and reach. At times, requires physical stress due to mandates of heavy schedules. Must also have the ability to move objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
