The Marketing Department at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2025.
The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in sales, conducting scholarly research activities that result in high quality, peer-reviewed publications, and service to advance the mission of the department, school, university and / or academy. A research active faculty should expect to maintain a 3 / 2 teaching load.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of marketing professionals by envisioning new programs, embracing a growth mindset, and demonstrating a deep understanding of sales, sales centers, and sales curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in both face-to-face and online instruction and who share a commitment to a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- A Ph.D. or DBA in Marketing is required in addition to teaching experience of Sales / Marketing classes at the university level. NOTE : Applicants with earned degrees will be given preference. ABDs will be considered, however, PHD or DBA in Marketing must be conferred by August 1, 2025 to be eligible for employment.
- Evidence of an active scholarly research agenda and future research potential is required.

Required Certifications or Licensure Primary Function of Organizational Unit The Marketing department serves over 600 undergraduate majors and offers degrees in two areas : (1) Marketing Strategy and (2) Professional Selling. The Cameron School of Business’ Marketing Department is home to the Center for Sales Excellence & Customer Delight. The department also offers a course in the Cameron School core curriculum, as well as a Marketing specialization in the MBA program and several courses in multiple business master’s programs.
