Part-Time Lab Assistant - Henry/Vaughan
Salary/Position Classification
- $17.50 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
- 30 hours per week
- 100% Remote Work Availability: No
- Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No
Purpose of Position
This position is for a temporary research assistant to conduct research in amino acid and neurotransmitter transporters as well as perform general biochemistry and pharmacology lab duties. This position does not involve animal work.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, perform, analyze and interpret experiments.
- Design primers and perform molecular cloning
- Performing radiolabel transport assays
- General Laboratory Duties such as inventory and dishwashing
Required Competencies
- Attention to detail in carrying out experiments and keeping accurate and up-to-date records in a research notebook.
- Excellent communication skills
- Organized
- Willingness to work with radioactive ligands and experience with radiolabel transporter assays.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience with site-directed mutagenesis.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using scientific graphing software such as GraphPad Prism.
- Experience with Tissue Culture and maintenance and growth of cell lines.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
