General Description/Primary Purpose
The School of Engineering is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure earning, Instructor of Mechanical Engineering. This position will report to Dr. Alan Harris, Director of the School of Engineering. Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses mostly related to thermofluids laboratories, collaboration with local industry and service to the School, College of Computing, Engineering and Construction and the University of North Florida.
Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 4, 2025.
Working Hours: Varies
Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role

Required Qualifications
The candidate must hold a Master's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or closely-related field. The candidate must also demonstrate a record of laboratory instruction and development.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
Candidates with thermofluids laboratory teaching experience are encouraged to apply, with preference given to those with experience in developing hands-on laboratories. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate effectively with current faculty, demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, and show a willingness to continuously learn and grow. Additionally, the candidate should embody collegiality and actively participate in service and departmental governance.
