Job Title: Electrician I and II
We are seeking experienced electricians to join our team at the University of Northern Iowa.
Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will be responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems and equipment (generally less than 600V). They will work under direct supervision or general supervision, depending on their level of experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and repair electrical systems and equipment
- Utilize special tools, equipment, and processes to collect and analyze data for preventive and predictive maintenance
- Coordinate and accomplish maintenance, operations, and modifications
- Perform duties characteristic to and normally required in the trade of electrician
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates must have a valid driver's license and meet the University's Fleet Safety Program. The specific requirements vary depending on the level of the position:
- Electrician I: State of Iowa Class A or B Journeyman Electrician license
- Electrician II: State of Iowa Class A Journeyman Electrician license with at least four years as an apprentice plus two years of experience as a journeyman electrician; or State of Iowa Class B Journeyman Electrician license with eight years in the electrical trade in maintenance or construction
