The Assistant Athletic Director, Football Player Personnel will manage all aspects of the football roster which includes scholarship allocations and roster management (scholarship and non-scholarship); including evaluations of the current roster personnel, as well as setting clear direction regarding the roster constitution. This will require a concerted effort to pull together all aspects of information related to personnel beginning with recruitment through and beyond graduation. This position will also coordinate with NFL personnel for visits, evaluations, and opportunities to showcase our professional prospects.
The Assistant Athletic Director, Football Player Personnel will also be charged with oversight of football recruiting activities and all related employees to coordinate all efforts in strategy, evaluations and retention. This position will direct the recruiting budget, all recruiting related travel, recruiting service utilization, implementation of data analytics strategies, all prospect visits to campus, and coordination with the Office of Admissions. Along with Player Personnel responsibilities and Recruiting oversight, this position will also manage all aspects of scouting related to the football program. This includes opponent advance scouting, intimate knowledge of the university transfer process and coordinated transfer prospect evaluations; as well as the use of data analytics related evaluations and scouting.
It is essential that candidates for this position have experience managing a diverse team of full-time employees as well as the ability to create synergy among areas within the football program. Candidates must be creative thinkers, problem solvers, and great communicators; they must also be prepared to work long hours with high efficiency, enjoy the dynamic work schedule associated with college football, and thrive with integrity while offering critical direction related to all aspects of the football program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree (4 years)
- Experience with the sport of football at the collegiate or professional level
- General knowledge of a university structure and compliance rules (in concept) and a commitment to adhere to policies as set forth by the university and the NCAA
- Excellent written and verbal skills; proficient computer skills in multiple programs (Microsoft suite, Adobe, or similar)
